On the themes of history and storytelling, the exhibition brings together a collection of recent sculptural works made from second-hand books, aptly showing in McNaughtan's Bookshop.

Some of the works have been included in global exhibitions, some are still in the initial stages of development. This is a good opportunity to bring and view all the works together.

The purpose of the exhibition is to stimulate the development of creativity and innovations, to exceed the ordinary imagination of using paper and to promote the exchange of ideas and sharing of original experiments.

In a Jiffy

Meffan Museum and Art Gallery, 20 West High Street, Forfar. DD8 1BB

Tel: 01307 464123

'A relationship between distance and time.'

Jiffy: time taken for light to travel; a unit of time; time taken to travel a specific distance.

Professional and Honorary Members of the Society of Scottish Artists have been invited to create works on or of paper that specifically respond to the given theme embedded in the title 'In a Jiffy.'

Works explore notions of time, distance, travel, perception and process as well as the practical considerations of transportation and delivery. Artists were also asked to consider the journey that their work would make to reach its destination and asked to send their work directly to the gallery in a 'jiffy' bag or any other postal envelope or packaging.

Saturday 18th January - Saturday 15th February 2014

Tuesday - Saturday 10am-5pm (closed Monday)

Admission free
